I hope it isn't their swan song
Oct. 8th, 2016 12:46 amI saw this swan made of old tyres and garden hoses in one of the monasteries not far from our village today.
Firstly, had I been a swan the thought of suing probably would have crossed my mind at least very briefly.

And secondly, I wonder if those orthodox monks who used to do things like this fairly recently:

are going "When did we go terribly terribly wrong with this?" these days. And yeah, I do hope this isn't their swan song.

Date: 2016-10-08 05:04 pm (UTC)There are not enough monks in the monasteries these days to restore them to their former glory. The church got the monasteries back from the state in an awful state after the fall of the Soviets and they are trying to restore them slowly.
