The photo is reminding me of reading of the discovery of a cave by a rancher somewhere or other when he found some cows in a group near some vegetation on his land. Reportedly, there was a cool breeze issuing out of the cave, whose presence had been hidden due to the plants (possibly trees, possibly brush, maybe both. I forget.)

Interesting, thanks. I heard of a similar cave in the Middle East but that was years ago and didn't know as many details as I've read about this one. I plan to visit a marble cave next month, although one I've been to before.

Ha! even the cattle are hot.

Is it a dry heat there or does it get hot and very humid?

It is not very humid here. And we need a bit of rain.

You might need a shaman to do a rain dance.

They are very firmly Christian here, Shamanism, Paganism, etc would not go down well here, ha ha, they would also never believe it could do anything (good). Although in the city and in some other villages they do seem to use "clairvoyants", etc. But not in our cluster of villages.

Well if they're Christian they should pray for rain.  Whatever works I say.  It all goes to the same God in the end.  Whether you're doing some dance and chanting or saying the rosary.  God hears it all.  The intention behind it is the important part.

They do pray but generally their prayers are not about such specific stuff as rain, they tend to be more generic here along the lines of "Give us what is good for us even if it is hard and even if we do not see immediately that it is good for us". I saw prayers for specific things here when someone was sick though. But rain does not seem to hit the threshold for a specific prayer.

It's the same here for most Christians...Or in my limited experience it seems that way.  I was babtized and confirmed Catholic.  Didn't stay Catholic my own choice.  But I do remember Masses being said for general things..Actually more often then not masses were offered for the dead.

I was told a story how one girl from our village fell for a guy who was visiting from western Ukraine but hey could not marry because he was Catholic (western Ukraine is Catholic while Eastern is Orthodox) and she was Orthodox. Neither of them would convert. Orthodox priest would not marry them because he was Catholic. Catholic priest would only marry them if they promised to raise their kids Catholic, which she refused to do. They ended up breaking up in the end.

That's sad that they didn't find a way to stay together despite what their religions were doing.

Should have left both churches and eloped.

Their religion was very important to them and it still is to many people here.

You must be a mind reader, because that is exactly what was going through my mind when I was taking this shot.

Even the cows look pissed that you are trying to take their picture in public.
