Colorful. Looks like fun. Does it have lights on it for when the sun goes down?

It does have some lights. This chain swing survived since soviet times. In some places Moldova looks like time stopped here sometime in the 70s and stood still since then, which can be fascinating.

A co-worker said the same thing about Cuba. She goes every year sometimes more then once a year.  She loves it there.  Except they're stuck in the 50s.  I expect that will change though now that the US has lifted the long standing trade emargo and Americans are once again allowed in to Cuba.

Can't stop progress once it starts.

I like how it's so full of nature there though.  With the huge forests and the mountains.

The extent of deforestation that happened in Moldova in the last ten years is nothing short of catastrophic though. Villages are pretty (not in a chocolate box way like in western Europe) but not much forest left. Luckily, there are a number of projects trying to reverse the trend, ours is one of them but much more work is needed.

The neighbouring Romania (which is the 'mother country' for Moldova, they used to be one and Moldovans are actually Romanians) has much more, Europe's last remaining virgin forests are there but illegal logging is a huge problem there too. The government is very corrupt, they just sold the biggest and oldest nature reserve which is on UNESCO list to an Austrian wood producer. Bribes to politicians work wonders there. It did cause outrage but still went through, bribes went to the former prime minister's father (tens of millions euro apparently). These people are billionaires, I have no clue why they think that they need more money so badly that they do shit like this.

That is sad that they are cutting down all their forests.  Don't they realize that they are essentially killing themselves by cutting down all the trees?  It's the reason the ozone layer is so damaged..part of the reason..Freakin' idiots with their billions want to build big steal buildings and build big huge corporate farms that basically torture cows and chickens so they can make more billions.  There is alot wrong in the world. Most if not all of it can be attributed to politicians and big business.  Money is the root of all evil.
