Georgians descend on the village

A busy and super fun night today here.

One of the girls from the village married her brother's friend a while ago, the guy was Georgian. He became friends with her brother at wrestling competitions both of them took part in. After the wedding she left to Georgia where they live in her husband's village. They have four kids already.

Every year they come back here to visit the girl's family with the whole extended family from Georgia (husband's brothers and their wives and kids, etc). The party arrived today in eight cars, five of which were 4X4s full of Georgian wine, children and presents. The whole village joins in the fun, the dinner tonight looks like a medium-sized wedding. They cooked some Georgian food too, which is awesome.

I am very happy they are here, the men will be helping us with our project and it will be very welcome. We have volunteers now but they are hipsters and cannot drive a tractor, use a chainsaw, etc. They also wear very tight pants and the girls from the village tell them that if they want to wear pantyhose then usually the skirt should be added on top, which sensitive souls as they are, they don't take very well. These guys though are a real deal, it is clear that we are going to make some serious progress with their help.

And oh man, Georgians can sing. Their youngsters are loud and it is laughter and singing all around. We have this going on here now and I am told it will go on for at least a couple of hours non-stop. This song is popular with them.

Georgian wine can be the best in the world - if your friends brought a really good sort like Kindzmarauli or Ahasheni (ask them...). And yes, a very special people, and a very special singing. I respect the country very much.

The wine is amazing. No, no, this is not a real video, this is just the song they sang here. One of the girls is a semi-professional singer and their singing is really impressive. I generally would not post pictures or videos of real people here because it would change the dynamics and make everyone conscious, etc and might result in problems we do not need. I only post photos of people I do not know personally. Likewise, I do not mind if people I do not know personally take my pictures and post them (oh boy, I was caught in all kinds of embarrassing situations and saw myself on the net) but generally would not expect it from people I know personally (well, am mostly OK with that too though).

Sounds like a fun day/evening.  My family has BBQ on the weekends in summer.  Sometimes we have Bon fires..if the weather is bad we have a kitchen party.  Everyone gathers in the kitchen, there's food, drink (beer mostly), music and chit chat.  Sometimes we play gribbage.

I am protecting them and taking care of them here, they are great guys. They are doing great now and have just extended their stay with us for a month and we are happy to have them. They had a tough time in the beginning and were a pain in the backside too but now I found a perfect fit for them within our project and they also grew a pair a bit and can now stand up to twelve year old girls for themselves. Yay! They still don't stand a chance against Georgians though, this is where I come in ). One of my next entries is going to be about our awesome hipsters here.

I know that they exist the entire world over. If anything I wish I could have them as pen pals, but the one definite I know in life is that beauty--especially in the form of females--will never cease to increase.

There are over seven billion people and growing, and to think of all the ones I missed who lived in previous times and all those I'll miss in the future. This has nothing to do with Heaven or God or religion, this is just the normal process of life itself. There's always too much of a good thing. The hardest part is in obtaining it.
