I noticed that most dog boys had more or less similar masks, there was no variety of breeds most of them where doing Dobermans or Great Danes?

I think a Poodle could have been fun. This guy stood out, what breed is he doing I wonder?

The white one on the left was really convincing.

Seeing the guys made me think that a human dog would be incredibly useless at almost everything and probably a pain to look after. What are they good for?

I do not like that.

I think it is a very niche market.

I think it's part an S&M thing and maybe part poking at the whole sexual position doggy style itself.

A human dog is meant to be the submissive in a dominant/submissive relationship.  I'm guessing.

Yes, I know it is a fetish, the post was not fully serious.
I wonder though if there are "non-traditional" couples where "bossy dogs" boss around their "owners".

Oh probably.  Role reversals are common in that lifestyle.

Surely there are bull dogs being bossed by the toy poodles.

But are there human owner / dog couples in which "dogs" boss their "human owners"?

Ha!  I don't know..Maybe there are.  I know there are some actual non human dogs who seem to have control over their human owners.   So maybe it can be the same with Human dogs and human owners.

There also was one cat dude. He seemed to get on with dog boys just fine and had "Pussy" on his t-shirt.

Ha!  So either he is saying he is a pussy or he's "pussy whipped. "

I have no idea, I realised that I wouldn't be able to figure out or guess what most of those guys were saying when two horses walked past me holding hands.

Cats, dogs, horses-Almost a farm-Missing cows, chickens and pigs. I'm only speculating myself-Ah but atleast they are celebrating love and not killing eachother. Better they dress up as farm animals then carry assault rifles.

Obviously. The thought of comparing the boys to murderers would never cross my mind though. For me it is similar to when I see someone drive a strange car I would never drive. I get curious and can even joke about them but "at least they are not murdering people" does not cross my mind, ha ha.

"When Gotham is in ashes, you have my permission to die."
or maybe "Bow wow before me!" (rather than "Bow before me".)

The Gotham quote came to mind from a Batman movie, as the character saying that wore a mask.

I read a science fiction book by Gene Wolfe where genetically engineered dog soldiers are mentioned. I don't know why people would bother, though. Maybe it was just an interesting idea to include. If I were asked to come up with a reason, I might say, well, maybe dog soldiers were more loyal than human soldiers, but I'm just coming up with rationales off the top of my head.

Now that I think of it, there were genetically engineered animal-people in some other science fiction stories. I don't recall the reason for that, though. They were regarded as lower class, just because of what they were. Those were by Cordwainer Smith, a pen name for Paul Linebarger.

"The Underpeople, animals modified into human form and intelligence to fulfill servile roles, and treated as property. Several stories feature clandestine efforts to liberate the Underpeople and grant them civil rights. They are seen everywhere throughout regions controlled by the Instrumentality. Names of Underpeople are based on their animal species. Thus C'Mell ("The Ballad of Lost C'Mell") is cat-derived; and D'Joan ("The Dead Lady of Clown Town"), a Joan of Arc figure, is descended from dogs."

Interesting. I haven't read any of these. I don't read a lot of science fiction these days.

Did you happen to see the interesting Channel 4 documentary on the pup phenomenon earlier this year? I've linked to a Youtube clip (featuring a Dalmatian!), but there's a link to the whole show there.

Yes, there was a Dalmatian there too I just remembered. And I have a picture of him.
No, I have not seen that documentary but I might now, thanks for sharing.

I just saw the trailer. I saw the Dalmatian guy featured in the documentary there and took a couple of pictures of him. I will post them sometime soon.

I had to Google it and yes, looks like he might have been going for Puli indeed.

It's just like donning a political mask--no variety in breeds there either!

But you would not expect from these guys to be as limited, restricted and devoid of imagination as politicians are, ha ha.
