I watched the "muslamic ray guns" video for the first time yesterday even though it has been around since 2011 apparently. I did not care about the video that much but the idea of a muslamic ray gun completely captured my imagination. I wonder what it would be like and I really want one. I also wondered what would "Harry Potter and the Muslamic Ray Gun" be like.

I think I need to ask [livejournal.com profile] randomdreams what he thinks a muslamic ray gun would be like and whether he can make one, he seems to be able to make anything. If he does make one for me I promise to keep it safe from "interracial law and muslamic infidel who wants to bring Iraqi law over London and rape fifteen year olds" obviously.

Harry Potter and Muslamic ray guns?

Maybe Voldemort might own one.  Seems his kind of thing.  Or Bellatrix.

I read the books and saw the movies.  I don't do the conventions or anything.  The reason I started reading the books was due to a child in this after school program I was in.  He had ADHD we were stuck inside due to the weather being rainy.  He had mentioned to me one other day that he liked Harry Potter.  So I bought the first book with the idea to read it to any of the kids that were interested.  I read to this kid until his parents came to pick him up.  The kid sat still the whole time completely rapt.  And this is a kid who usually can't sit still for more then a few moments due to the ADHD.  Books have magic in them I swear.

Ray guns are cool though.

JK Rowling made ten year olds avidly read 800 page long books.
I think she deserves an award just for that.
Besides the billion dollars she made, of course.

I agree.  She most certainly should get an award for that.

Kids love those books.

We sometimes argue who is hotter: Bellatrix or Luna. We come to the conclusion that Bellatrix is hotter but she'd also kill you when she was through.

I'm partial to Bellatrix.  I've soft spot for psychotic characters.  I loved Ramsay Bolton in GOT.

I'm partial to Bellatrix because I think Helena Bonham-Carter is one of the most beautiful women to have ever walked this planet, but yeah. I won't go as far as psychotic, but definitely the ones who are not well-represented on the normal spectrum of interaction.

One of my friends once wrote a short bit about Tonks whipping up some polyjuice potion so she could wake Remus up and he'd turn over and see Snape and start screaming and screaming while Tonks fell out of bed laughing.

If I were given free reign to make a muslamic ray gun, what it would _actually_ do is make people turn atheist about six months after being shot by it.
coz I just want to mess stuff up.

You would certainly make more money than JK Rowling on it but it would be no fun. You have to give at least some instant gratification to the shooter. Can it at least give people one shoots the same accent that the guy in the video has right away for 6 months and then turn them atheist?

That'd sure increase usage. Once upon a time, the comic strip Bloom County had an inventor who made something that looked like a camera but when used it turned caucasian people black. It was a pretty good run.

I just wondered if anything would change if you shot world's top 100 religious leaders with it. And I think probably not at all.

There's an interesting book called "the world before yesterday" by jared diamond, and in part of it he discusses why religion, regardless of whether any particular religion is true, plays such a part in society, especially as a system for reinforcing the status quo by giving it a divine stamp of approval.

Yes, I read the book.

I probably should have expected that.
