Storks are everywhere in Romania. There were dozens of nests in every village we passed through.

Storks are pretty birds. We still have cardinals and I have been trying to capture them in a photo but I can't. I got a good shot of the neighbor's cat Poe.. which I can show you later.

He is a beautiful black cat but he is very skittish. You kind of meow at him or baby talk to him. He likes petting when he gets to know you.

They are in every village there. The central streets have two levels: the ground level for people's houses and then the upper level, on utility poles for storks. Could be up to twenty nests right next to each other on every pole, each house gets a corresponding nest. There is human traffic on the road and separate stork traffic (the storks flying in and out of the nests) just above people's heads. It is awesome.

They put something like a metal upside down tripod on top and the storks build the nest on and around it.
