First vice miss USSR UK, 2016

A young woman who is the First Vice Miss USSR UK, 2016 is being interviewed on Moldovan TV right now.

I was struggling to imagine what "Miss USSR UK, 2016" could possibly mean. Given that USSR has beed dead for many years now and "USSR UK"? The woman speaks Romanian. Our hosts had no idea what it could mean either. We caught only the end of the interview.

I had to Google it and here it is:

"MISS USSR UK is the only international annual beauty contest amongst ladies from the former Soviet Union countries, residing in the United Kingdom. The annual event gathers the Russian-speaking elite in London, over series of events, where the most beautiful ladies from the 15 countries compete to represent their beauty, talents and cultural heritage."

No wonder many Brits feel like they do not need the EU, they have this.

I think the choice of the name is related to USSR itself not the song since it is a contest for women from former USSR.

Ha ha, I had no idea American capitalists look in a certain way, ha ha. I think all beauty pageant contestants look somewhat similar.

what an incredibly specific group. I wonder if they have similar ones in other countries (e.g. Miss USSR Germany, Miss USSR Sweden, Miss USSR USA).

I doubt it. I don't think that there is another place that is as much of a playground for the rich Russians as London is. And this looks to me like one of their parties basically.
