No, it wasn't for an event. The villages just got together to dance in the evening. I think they do it a couple of times a week except in winter, and early spring and late autumn when there is a lot of work in the fields / orchards.
I am not taking very many pictures here, there is just too much to do. Also, most interesting things here in Moldova seem to be happening in the dark ). Like their Easter service and celebrations. And when I say dark I mean almost complete darkness. One would need a good DSLR and tripods, etc to shoot in those conditions and I will never take photography seriously enough for that. Also, my usual thing of shooting strangers doesn't work well here because there are almost no strangers around me, all villagers know each other and I do not want to get my hosts in trouble by upsetting their neighbours.
