This is why Trump won

Whenever something went wrong with our project or our fieldwork our volunteers used to say "Thanks Obama". Say, the temporary dam we built on a small canal in the woods to clean the canal bed broke, that was a typical "Thanks Obama!' occasion.

Now it is history and it got replaced with "This is why Trump won". It is used whenever something goes wrong instead of "Thanks Obama!" but works best when someone screws up of course. At our evening meeting today we realised that one of our volunteers did not buy some of the stuff we needed for the engineers who are coming tomorrow morning to do what they have to do for us. Well, everyone just went "Dude.....this is why Trump won."

Trump won because of Obama, so we may just combine the two wisdoms into one: "Thanks to Obama, this is why Trump won!"

Or: "For Obama's sake, do you want Trump to win again?!"

Good idea but I think we should let Obama rest now, he has done his job and with Trump in the oval office we hardly are going to need anyone else for catchphrases and memes.

I doubt Trump is going to fix anything though.  Not really.  Mind you he can always make things much much worse.  Although if he keeps spending all his time on Twitter attacking Alec Baldwin and SNL he ain't going to get anything done..which might be a good Thing - I mean atleast if he's spending all his time on Twitter he isn't doing any actual work toward any of his campaign promises.  So nothing will get done good or bad.

On "Meet the Press" this morning, the debate was whether to take Trump literally or seriously. I can't believe this is real.

Neither can I. Yes, Baldwin will be a big beneficiary of this, his SNL two weeks pay check became a four year check.

"This is why Trump won" is not about Trump fixing anything, it is about the left seeking what we have done wrong that he got elected (and overusing it too).

I think the left will freak out for two years, double down on the insane stuff but then we will come to our senses and not let the second term happen.

So 2 yrs of insanity and 4yrs of Trump insanity which is worse in a lot of ways then the left insanity.  Hopefully it is only 4yrs of Trump.  Or hey the left could find something on Trump and his henchmen and have them all impeached, and shipped to guantanamo in the next year or 2.

The "Thanks, Obama" statement gets me quite peeved, too. I'm also peeved that we elected a president that only internet trolls were cheering for.

I had a cousin who would jokingly say "thanks, Obama!" for all kinds of things. Dog's leash broke? Thanks Obama! Dropped a glass in the sink and it broke? Thanks Obama! I wonder if she'll start saying "this is why Trump won" too.

She might ). It usually doesn't suit as well as "Thanks, Obama" but it is much more current.
