Flower cats

Taking these was inspired by "Frida" (see here), posting them was inspired by bunn's cat in the hat.

This is Veverita (which means "Squirrel" in Romanian and is pronounced "veh-veh-ree-tsah"). She is always the first to appear at the slightest hint of food.

And this is the "Frida" guy who was the inspiration behind us dropping flowers on the poor village cats' heads for five minutes. He was the trickiest to get because unlike the girls, the boys here do not let humans touch them almost at all.

We got addicted to watching them here. They are very independent here and roam free and it is like a separate parallel civilisation just next to us.

We used to have a bunch of independent cats around us but someone poisoned them all. :( Including one that was mine, and would come to my window and come in the house and get fed and pets, and then go out again. :(

That sucks. Nobody poisons them here, they are essential to keeping the population of mice under control. They do what they want and most of them never come into the house, they usually have a separate heated place to winter. The boys are not castrated and they somewhat regulate the population by fighting off other boys we were told. The girls are let to become mothers once and then they are fixed but in such a way that they do not lose the desire to have fun with the boys. They told us here that there are two ways to fix the girls, one where they lose interest in boys and the second one where they don't and they use the second one here. I am still not sure how true this is. These guys probably do live shorter lives than the castrated never-leave-the-house lot but I think their lives are much more exciting, I would certainly choose it over the safety of being locked up inside.

Yeah, that's what I told my husband when our Tyke disappeared. I'm sure he was happy for getting to go outside and be with all the other cats. Even if it meant he only lived 5 years instead of 20. :(

When I was leaving Russia, I ought to leave my cat to a friend. It was a very painful procedure. After this, each time I see a cat on the street or on the photo, I feel a sharp mixture of love and pain.

What about the "hate", you did try to be deep, when you were analyzing this "our fault" stuff after the elections. And it wasn't stupid at all.

How was that deep though? I reposted a couple of pics with a couple of lines and said that the kids should stop throwing their toys out the pram, suck it up and get down to real work to prevent this from happening again. If this is deep than I might drown in the next puddle I step into ).

Leaving your cat forever must have been a painful procedure. Is the cat still alive?

They were sleepy after a good meal and their confusion gave us plenty of time. Some of them did not even bother to shake the flowers off themselves.
