The groom surprised the bride with their wedding ride, which he put together himself at this wedding in Tiraspol, Transnistria.

They should have tried horses, a more reliable transport.

Good shot!

Ha!  Cool.  Reminds me of an old Johnny Cash song where he takes car parts from GM where he worked.  He'd take one piece at a time.  Builds the car from scratch.

The groom seemed very certain about the reliability of this ride too.

Then it was a good moment for her to reconsider her plans...

She didn't. Thy just rode that car into the sunset together. It was a happy end.

One of the truths of life is that people who build cars from junk are always sure the car is fantastic. Another truth is that they're usually wrong. I say this having done some similar shenanigans.

Huh, I wonder if that was written before or after the MASH plotline where the mechanic was sending Jeep pieces home one at a time with the intent of making a complete Jeep when he got home. I'll do some reading.

Ha!  I remember that show.

I think it was written before MASH but not sure.

I am so envious of people who can do that. My insight into doing it would be limited to (even though I can pretend otherwise) "OK now, the four wheels go at the bottom and then the car basically goes on top of them. Cool."

Best way to learn is buy a weird, beautiful old car and then try to keep it running. Man.

I haven't finished tracking this down but the episode aired in 1973, and Cash recorded "one piece at a time" in 1976. However, someone else wrote the song earlier.

I would just end up hiring skilled weird people to keep my weird beautiful car running ).

I can't find a date for when the song was written, but it was apparently written for Cash, rather than him covering an earlier song, so I think MASH has precedence.

That works when you can arrange the time and place of the car's nonfunctional episodes. The learning experiences are when you're driving the car and something fails and now you have to diagnose and kludge to get home. (Which used to be a regular part of driving: in one of John Steinbeck's novels, the characters had to stop, pull the head off the engine, pull the intake and exhaust valves out, and regrind the valve seats in a rest stop so they could keep driving.)
