What do you think about this, guys? Interesting or just another fad?

I garden because I like gardening. I could buy vegetables down the street at the grocery store. The whole novelty of growing your own vegetables is the actual act of doing it. I mean, why don't I go out and get a robot to ride my bike for me?

Here the focus is on food production not on gardening as a recreational activity. To use the bike, it would be if you had to ride it to produce your electricity.

Seems cheaper and less waiting to just go to the farmers market or grocery store.

The funny thing is that the part I have the hardest time with is harvesting. Like today I wanted to make a stew, but I didn't get home from work until after dark, so I had to go out there with a flash light to pick my carrots. I remember laughing to myself that it would be funny if I got stopped by the cops seeing how I was basically sneaking around my house with a flashlight.

"What are you doing out here ma'am?"
"Picking carrots and kale."
"In the dark?"
"Well, I have to make a stew."

If the robot could harvest and clean the vegetables, then I might be interested.

I suppose it would be good for people who wanted to grow food but hated the gardening part of it?

Or don't have the time for it or are really bad at it. I am not sure about this though ).

Looks interesting. Whether it would really save one much time, I'm not sure. Considering installation and ongoing maintenance of the machine-thingy.

I wonder what the energy consumption is like. Whether it is more energy efficient than traditional large scale farming, or does the system consume more energy than it produces?

Haha, this is an incredibly Singaporean way to think about it. I like it. Straight to the point and to the important and practical stuff, screw the emotions and whining about "listening to the birds singing while pruning the fennel?"
