Water bottle

I am still using this Norwegian VOSS bottle as my water bottle and have been throughout my stay here. I left it in many places and lost it in the forest many times but it has "VOSS Artesian Water from Norway" on it and everyone in all the neighbouring villages knows that it is mine by now and it is always returned to me when found. I forgot it at the edge of the forest this time too, it was still there when I came back for it.

That water bottle is like this key chain I've had over 10yrs now. I've left it at an internet thing at the mall and got it back, left it in my door once when I locked it with the key on it, it was there when I got home from work. It's a brass key chain. I've been lucky I didn't loose it or that someone let themselves into my house.

There are memories about Chekhov - how he betted with someone that he can take ANY subject, e.g. an ashtray, and write a novel by the next day. In one of contemporary russian novels, there is a remake of the story: a journalist betted that he can write about a pair of old shoes, and it will be published. And he won.
