Best of luck to the president-elect Donald Trump

What a night. I have to say that watching democracy at work is exhilarating. And nobody does it quite like the Americans.

I cannot imagine voting for Trump (same goes for Clinton actually) and I predicted a different outcome (I also got it wrong with Brexit) but now that "we the people" have spoken, I wish the best of luck to the president-elect Donald Trump in rising to the challenges of the world's no 1 job and hope that he will do great (and prove me wrong again).

Congrats to my friends who supported Trump, I can imagine how justifiably intoxicated you are with this victory. And I hope that the understandable but still very ott hysterics of many Hillary supporters will subside in a couple of days or weeks and they will not double down on calling everyone racists and -phobes (I think that was one of the things that brought you Trump) and the US, awesome as it is, will move on to what it does best, business as usual (and providing entertainment for the rest of us every now and then).

  I find it funny you know how at the end of his campaign when it looked like Hilary was going to win he kept crying that the election was rigged.  Yet here he is President of the USA.

Boy, the campaign was ugly.
It might be 8 years if the Democrats continue to nominate like they did this year. I hope it won't be Chelsea Clinton this time.

Yes and it survived Obama and Slick Willie as well.As for me,I'm a libertarian.My guy was Gary Johnson .Neither Clinton or Trump and their parties represent my beliefs or my hopes for America.I'm glad Trump won only because I dis liked Clinton more but now that he is going to be our new president I'm willing to give him a chance which is more than we will ever see from democrats and the same could be said for republicans if Clinton had won. Both these parties are corrupt and owned by corrupt corporate interests that do not have my interests or the interests of the average American in their minds.They only care about their greedy agenda of empire

And now there are anti-trump protests in several cities.  I'm sitting here watching it on TV news anchors arguing about it.  This is on Trump he created this nightmare we're living in.  With all his hate speech and bullying in the campaign.  It's not over.

Nah, the election is over, this is just people letting off some steam. Do not quite get what they protest for (overturn the election and do what they want instead?). No, Trump is many bad things but he is not alone responsible for all the hate around us.

Hopefully.  I doubt it though.  People are afraid and he added to that fear with all his threats throughout his campaign.

People get scared, protests happen, riots happen. There were BLM riots not long ago. Not that unusual. I do not get what they seek to achieve though, overturn the election? People who voted Democrats did not bother to go and vote for Hillary this time around. You can stand in the street with "No to bad stuff! Yes to good stuff!" poster but am not sure what does that achieve.

I don't know what it'll achieve either.  I see no use in protesting now.  Trump won the Electoral vote.  The people have spoken and they voted Trump.  So you know they ought to just suck it up and deal or move to Canada.  I don't like that he is president and he'll probably flush America and democracy down the toilet while he's there but it's done and can't be undone for 4 yrs.  So I don't know.   Unless some crazy decides to assassinate him we're pretty much stuck with the guy.

If they just need to feel heard and let some steam off, it is OK, it will not change what they want to change now though, the work to flush him out in 4 years should start instead.
I hope nobody gets assassinated, but even if he was they would be stuck with Pence then anyway.

Yes they should be working on building a better opposition to Trump in the next election.  They should also be working toward uniting the country again.  Trump is horrible but if the country unites again they can bitch slap Trump into being the leader they need for the 4yrs.
