Grannies taking a shortcut through the woods

Our village grannies are taking a shortcut through the woods to the monastery for the service. They are very warm and always give you some freshly baked stuff but you must be on your best behaviour around them. You don't want to get on the wrong side of them, that stick will be landing on your back in no time.

I'd love some freshly baked bread or pastries. 

Yeah..don't mess with the grannies..They may look sweet but if you step outta line-they'll whack you one.

I think it's amazing that the grannies are still that mobile in other parts of the world. I mean, my own grandmother stopped leaving the house before I was born and my grandfather was confined to a wheel chair for the last 10 years or so of his life.

I am sorry to hear that, it sounds awful. Yes, our grannies here are very mobile, sometimes too mobile for our liking ).

Everyone in my family has also been very mobile till the end. We walk a lot and losing that would be a big thing for us I think. My mother gave birth to our youngest brother at 49 and was running around on the same day ).

Warm as they are, they also help keep the world in order. You don't want to get on the wrong side of them, ha ha.
