Fancy cat

This fancy cat came to our hosts' neighbours garden from somewhere about a week ago and just stayed. He was very hungry and they think that his owners just drove him into the woods and abandoned him there. He obviously found his way into the village and is now feeling very comfortable here.
They still call him different names until one of them sticks for good. Only the lady of the house can touch him, he doesn't trust anyone else yet.

That is one handsome cat.  It sucks that it was abandoned.  I'm glad someone is feeding him now.  He/she probably didn't eat much before it got to the village.

It's a boy. Google is telling me he is a Scottish Fold.

Ah yes Scottish fold I think google is right.  Yes looked male to me but I wasn't 100% sure.

I would have said a Russian Blue. Either way he's adorable.

He does look like a Russian Blue if not for the ears. I think the ears identify him as a Scottish Fold.

I think you're right. I looked up Scottish Fold and his facial structure does seem more along that line. He's a beauty.

I actually think he may be a Russian Blue/Scottish Fold cross. Because he's very leggy for a Scottish Fold, and that is a common trait for Blues. The ear fold is a dominant trait, so we only know for certain that there was Scottish Fold in his ancestry.

It is not my real birthday, it is still a bit further down the line (I put a random date in and forgot about it) but since I have never celebrated my real ones anyway, I'll take it. Thank you.

He's a lucky pussycat, to find a new home like he did. I can't... yeah ok I can, believe someone would abandon a cat like that but ... ugh.

I hope he becomes more trusting and happy over time.

I can believe that people would abandon a cat like this here. A lot of people here leave to work abroad and leave their kids as well as cats and dogs to be taken care by their grandparents. They often are not fond of the pets, get tired of them and just get rid of them eventually.

This guy is getting more trusting everyday. He definitely got lucky, the new home he found is a paradise for cats and they are very fond of him there by now.

That sounds so awful :-( I guess it's just a very different mentality.

Sounds like China with the kids. Saw something on the tv about it and it's a similar situation, the parents going off to the big city and leaving the kids behind with the grandparents. Some are lucky and are loved but others aren't :-( And of course, being China, the numbers involved are phenomenal.
The show didn't even get started on the pets.

I don't think it is so much a different mentality as it is very different conditions and level of hardship.
He still did not have a name yesterday, I haven't checked today yet.

He looks like a Scottish fold. They are a rather expensive breed here. I am glad that he found a new home!

He got lucky and found a very good new home. They are very fond of him here. He is proving to be quite a character.
