Moldova's best known export

Moldova is the least visited country in Europe (and one of the least visited in the world). We knew nothing about it before we visited it for the first time last year. Today I asked the guys here what was Moldova's best known export and they told me that it was O-Zone (one hit band) and this song in particular. And indeed I think I heard it before in London. I did not know that it was a Moldovan band though. The guy who wrote the song (the tallest of them) earned slightly over ten million euros from its international success and now lives in New York.

My boyfriend is Romanian and this was also a popular song in Romania. I used to hear it a lot here in the US when I was younger. I still know most of the words to it, but never realized it was even in a different language. I just thought it was a funny song. Lol I was singing to it at home the other day and my boyfriend said "how do you know this song??" Haha

Ha ha, it was popular pretty much everywhere in Europe for a short period of time a while ago. But yes, I believe it would have been especially popular in Romania since Moldova and Romania seem to have a shared cultural space and the song is in Romanian.
