Ah I see now it makes sense.  We're having a Pride Parade here tomorrow afternoon I think. I may go take some pictures.  If it doesn't rain.

it does provide for some good picture opportunities. Show us some Canadian human dogs to match the London ones, ha ha.

Ha!  I'll see if I can find any human dogs, cats or horses.

Don't be afraid to take pictures of them, at the parade it is expected and nobody has a problem with it. At least this is how it works in Europe.

It works the same here I think for the most part.  I once had Canada day off from work few years back and took pictures of people no one complained.  Some even posed for me.

Although there was this one time I was out in the square.  Nothing going on just a regular Sunday afternoon.  I was taking pictures of this fountain in the square.  These two people guy and a girl sitting on the other side opposite me were upset I didn't warn them that I was taking pictures.   The guy approached me I thought he was going to start a fist fight with me..He'd have lost, he didn't though he just told me to not take pictures of him.  So I apologized and left the area.

At the parade it is expected. On a normal day it is trickier but in the situation you are describing the guy was totally in the wrong. And I would have gladly started a fist fight with him. He is in public space and I want to take a picture of that public fountain, just because he chose to sit there the whole world does not have to stop. I will take as many pictures in public places as I want, if he has a problem with that he can chose to stay indoors or on his private land.

But what fun is that in not going out in public for that fear? You don't know what the picture taker's intentions are. There was a guy caught taking pics at an amusement park here. When police questioned him, he admitted to masturbating to them for a couple days before deleting them.

You do not know what the photographer's intentions are indeed and I hope we are not going to introduce intentions police to keep us safe even in the realm of intentions. People might just see other people in the street and then masturbate to their memory of them too. We can't know the picture taker's intentions, they might be not good too and we will have to live with that.

In other local news, chronic public masturbaters will walk up the urinal next to you and start there while looking at you! People like them make the innocent picture-taking stranger look like a creep. Paparazzi also create that effect. The world (or at least the U.S.) has gotten sad.

The world always had this. In my mind it is a really big jump from the people who take pictures of public places to the people who walk up to you at the urinals to masturbate. In the world where every mobile phone has a camera "picture privacy" is gone, however much we might miss it. Fighting it is an uphill battle which will be lost.
