Soon

We planned to drive to Greece for a dip in the Med but had to postpone with how things are going here. Now, I will have to go to Singapore for a couple meetings soon and we will stop over in Bali. I miss the ocean.

Very good plans. The plans of the rich and famous.

Why for the rich and famous?

Good-night, my dear. :-)

Beautiful picture.

I live close to the Ocean here.  Well the bay of fundy actually but it's connected to the Atlantic.  The water is always freezing cold.

Wow the bay looks beautiful. Whenever I am near the water I try to swim, even in winter and even if the water is freezing cold. Here in Moldova they do this on Epiphany (in January). I will do too if I manage to visit then.

Wow that must be cold.  It looks cold in that picture.  We do something similar on Jan 1st we call it the polar bear dip.  People go out and jump into the Bay for a swim.  It's usually around -20 celius here that time of year.

They say the cold water is supposed to be good for you.

I find it very invigorating. One of my mates describes the state you are in after the ice swim as "post orgasmic chill". He is not far off.

Wow.  That makes it sound fun.

I might have to give the polar bear dip a try some time.

How pretty.

It is an awesome little island. It has everything, ocean, mountains, culture, temples, nightlife, six star resorts, traditional villages, whatever you are into. The people are among the friendliest I have ever seen anywhere. Very smiley bunch. You also can take photos of people at close distance, they do not mind and just smile at you. I have friends who spend three months year there working remotely. There is a large community of foreigners living there too.

You probably have to pack light with all your traveling. How do you manage that?

[identity profile] topum.livejournal.com 2016-07-31 04:05 pm (UTC)(link)
I am a super light packer and it comes easy to me because I also live with only the most necessary stuff in my house. We got rid of everything non-essential (donated it all) a couple of years ago and have been living like this since then. It works great for me. I do not have anything I do not use and nothing has sentimental value to me, I get rid of things stuff as soon as I can by without them. I do not have a lot of clothes anymore either.
