The importance of a new pair of shoes

I managed to take a couple of photos of this Transnistrian border and passport control officer with my phone through the rear view mirror. Taking photos is strictly forbidden at the border crossing so this is the best I could do.

Note the shoes. Chasing someone in these would not be an option but kicking with those heels could be effective. She had a gun too though.

It was a very unexpected place for glamour, grey, wet, muddy road full of dusty cars queuing up for passport control, people running around, cars getting searched. But she just calmly glided over all that chaos feeling beautiful in those shoes. Her face expression and he behaviour were completely different from the rest of the crew. Straight back, calm face, no hurry, no shouting. And I think it was because of the shoes. And she was way more effective and faster than the other officers. I have always been sceptical about the importance of getting another pair of shoes but I think I see it now. Apparently a new pair can change everything indeed. At least I think it did at this Transnistrian border crossing.

Cool picture.  But..she ain't ever catching any criminals in those heels  - Unless she's Tina Turner - Now there is a woman who can dance in heels.

She ain't catching any if she runs after them indeed but I think she is going honeytrap here.
Oh yes, Tina Turner could move in heels indeed.

I can imagine she feels fabulous in those shoes. It looks like the heel itself is a little chunky (not a spike) so that does help. But if I had to spend all day standing, walking, and potentially chasing... I'd be opting for something a bit more practical (I also wouldn't want my fabulous shoes to get all muddy and dirty). Maybe she was a supervisor or something?

I don't know, she was doing all the stuff the other officers were doing. Although they did seem to come to her with people's docs to ask questions every now and then. Other women were in trousers and boots / trainers but she looked like "Screw that, the mess and mud around me aren't getting me down, I am wearing these awesome shoes". She was the most pleasant to deal with there, very calm and dignified but no smiling, people here do not smile they can even feel annoyed if you smile at them (What are you laughing at?, What's so funny?, etc).

This relax, Russian style :-)

I often hear from women (Russian of course), who have to do their jobs and need to spend all day standing and many short walking
" I was wearing all day in flat shoes, my feet were terribly tired. When I was walking home, I changed shoes with heels. This is happiness"

This officer, a real Russian girl, she knows how to combine beauty and usefulness :-D

She did stand out and she did get a lot of attention from the border crossers too.
