My laptop won't turn on. I will know tomorrow if it can be repaired. It is 2012 15" Macbook Retina and I like it. We had its battery and keyboard replaced last year in Singapore. If it cannot be repaired I will have to get a new one. I am not sure if I will go for a Mac or something else this time. I use both Macs and PCs and can jump between the two without much pain. I am a sucker for a good screen though, ideally 17" but 15" works too. I think there are some interesting models from Lenovo, Dell, Asus, Acer and Toshiba with 4K screens. Will have to look into that. For now it really sucks to be without my laptop.

I guess you've already gone through troubleshooting from https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204267 ... but I'll give the link regardless.

Thank you. Yes, I have gone through the list and nothing helped. It is with the service provider already. I will know what is wrong with it tomorrow. I hope they can still save it.

Now I really want to try EVGA's new SC17! I used 17" Macbook Pro before I switched to 15" Retina. I have been missing the big screen.

I just googled that. I read something about 4k gaming laptop before. It sounds impressive. I don't know if I could tell the difference between 4K and 1K from laptop viewing distance.

I definitely could tell the difference between a non-retina and retina macbook. Especially for text reading on screen, which I do a lot.

http://www.apple.com/macbook-pro/features-retina/ looks nice. I have an iMac from a few years ago and an iPhone 4S I sometimes toy with replacing.

A friend of mine got the new 5K iMac and I thought it was pretty awesome. I love the big screen but unfortunately I fly around so much that getting a desktop would not make any sense for me.
I have Samsung Galaxy Note 4, which I do not want to replace because later models' battery is not removable anymore and I often go through 2 batteries a day (I carry a spare one with me).

AH! That sucks. And do not follow this advice, but I have a story about a macair that would not turn on. It was just so ridiculous, I have to share!

I was a hotel visiting Disneyland and when I woke up, the computer would not turn on. I knew it was charged (and charging,) but it would not turn on. I googled some things on my phone about some force start something something, and I did that and nothing happened. Then I read this article about this guy who BAKED his laptop and made it work again. He stuck his super expensive apple laptop in the oven and baked it at a low heat and it worked! What ridiculous advice.

So... we go to Disneyland. We had to check out of the hotel room and I left my laptop in the car, not worried about the heat because the laptop was likely shot anyway. When we got back to the car, I felt the computer and it was HOT! When we got home, I made one last attempt to get my computer to work. I plugged it in and hit the power button and up my computer booted!

You’re welcome, I’m glad you enjoyed it.

However, this website seems to be suffering from some fairly serious technical glitches, the bottom of my comments page is all mis-formatted and looks ridiculous with everything all out of place as it is, and to make matters worse your Icon / Avatar is upside-down!

This is all a reflection of the lunacy spreading across the planet, if it wasn’t for the simple fact that people die and the process keeps starting over with every new generation, I would abhor to see what the world would be like today after thousands of years of the same “Beings” running things…

On a happier note, your blog articles are very unique and interesting; I do appreciate a dedicated literary expressionist such as yourself, as some of your writings are like pearl paintings of exquisite taste and veracity.

Oh, by the way, do you know anything about html, css, javascript or php? Thanks for coming by, have a good day.
