Pretty. It's like that here too in a lot of places. Except in the evergreen forests. The Spruce, and fur trees stay green all year around. Also soon there will be people out selling Christmas trees everywhere.
They have a lot evergreen forests across the border in Romania, much less here. Also they don't get Christmasy as early as we do in Europe (or you guys do in North America) we were told.
Ah yes the Orthodox don't have their Christmas until sometime in January. I think they have it right around the same time as the Ephinany or what I always called "little Christmas". I can remember as a child my mother would keep our tree up until After "little Christmas".
Yes, but the main celebration here is the New Year. Christmas is much quieter and mostly about going to church apparently. This is how it was during the Soviet times when religious holidays were not celebrated.
I wish ours were more quieter at times. I hate shopping in crowded malls at Christmas time. I usually just end up getting gift cards for people. Although this year I think I'll knit them hats and mittens.
That's very nice of you. I understand that winter hols are much less commercialised here then you and I are accustomed to. It is not about sales here we were told. It is very much about food though apparently.
