Putin's best week ever

So if Brexit and now the results of the world's most important election were not enough to make Vladimir Putin ecstatic, the world's least important election (I talked about it here) has just ended with the pro-Russian candidate beating the pro-EU candidate solidly (by ten percent of the votes). Igor Dodon (I took a picture of him here) is the president-elect of Moldova. He ran under the "Re-establish and strengthen our relations with Russia" slogan.

Well if that is not enough, then in Bulgaria, an actual EU member, the pro-Russian air force commander general Rumen Radev is now winning the election too.



And if that is not enough too, in Ukraine the very famous heavily pro-US former president of Georgia (a huge Putin's adversary) who was appointed by the new pro-west Ukrainian president the mayor of Odessa has resigned with much noise and heavy condemnations towards the Ukrainian new pro-west government, accusing it of corruption and everything else basically.

Seriously, it could not get better for Vladimir Putin. I bet he has the tears of the US protesters and media collected for him by the undercover KGB agents and flown to Moscow on fighter jets for him to bath in in his gold bath tub probably designed by the same Italian designer to the rich who gold leafed Donald Trump's penthouse.

Me too.  When I saw it in my Facebook news feed I was like "Yes!  Exactly!". 

I also think that the world has been primed for this moment for a while.  It's been building up and building up I never could put my finger on what exactly it was building up to though until now.  I am beginning to see the picture and there is a lot of red in it.  Red being communist red.  If I'm right we're all fucked.

What about the happy beneficiary, don't think for a second that he was sitting and waiting for his happiness to come. There is no doubts about his participation. The question is only in the scale of participation.

No, I don't think that you can totally manipulate another country's life from outside, it's impossible (or maybe it is now, in the epoch of internet?). But if there already are some problems, conflicts, subdivisions, you can play on them, deepen them, and support one of the sides. (This definitely happened in Brexit, I think.)

There is a common belief in Kremlin, that "The West" leads a hybrid war in many directions. Arab spring, Ukraine movement to EU and NATO. etc. One of the purposes is to destroy Russia or to take it under control by cnahging the goverment (by a revolution like Georgian or Ukrainian). And this belief is getting more and more paranoid, strengthening itself by propaganda. Its authors begin to believe in their own lies and become the victims of their own manipulations. Russain internet is full of people who really believe in it together with people who spread lies about it.

And there is a very strong intellectual military group that develops a theory and technology of the new-era hbrid war against the West. It is a wide palette - from politics (supporting far-right movements, riots, civil conflicts, radicalism, racism etc.) to very contemporary military ops. The best was in Crimea, practically without shootng. The leader of this intellectual team is this man. He wrote several program articles and is considered as one of the best experts in hybrid wars. And his position is the highest commanding one (not of the minister of defence).

It's interesting. In 10 years (thank to high oil prices) they transformed weak, out-of-date and demoralized soviet army relicts into the most contemporary force, perfectly armed and equipped, highly-spirited and motivated. First there were structural reforms, then there appeared a brainy civil-military team, that invents brilliant ops and leads all these political intrigues and cyberattacks as a new technique of war. No more these ridiculous soviet generals of 80 y.o. Now it's a young and up-to-date team.

The question is only about the scale of influence, but not about the fact. I don't like it. It comes even to my neighbourhood (Nicaragua is in love with Russia again.)

I feel somehow bad about laughing at this sentence, but it is hilarious.

It is - annoying? Disturbing? Odd? that the people in the US who you'd think would be most anti-Russian went for Russia's preferred candidate.
