Our resident hipsters found these remains of an old communist statue somewhere at the edge of the village and now want to chop its head off and use it to decorate our community house rather like they would use say head of Thalia or Benevento Head.
I don't know. I mean I'm all for reusing things but not sure how athesetically pleasing a head from an old communist statue would be. Even if they hollowed it out somehow and planted flowers in it. I just don't think there is anyway to make communism look pretty.
Ah I see. I lived with a girl once who had the bust of Caesar Augustus on her computer desk..well it wasn't the original it was a reproduction. It was kind of creepy. The eyes would follow you everywhere.
You could argue that of many works of art from the past, however. Trajan's Column, for example, is pretty disturbing when you think about the fact that it shows an imperial nation overthrowing a neighbour, killing its people and dragging them off into slavery...
But perhaps it needs to be underground for a few more decades to allow the reality to wash off a bit more.
Perhaps. In a few decades I won't care about much anyway except what time dinner is and what time the price is right is on. What time the nurse comes around with meds. I'll likely be in a nursing home by then. Pissing myself and forgetting my name.
is that communist wearing a cloak? I think it might be nice looking, though I don't know how hard it would be to behead it in an aesthetically pleasing way
