I did not feel that they did not like trees there but I think Istiklal could definitely use some trees. They solve the pipes and CCTV problems everywhere in the world somehow, it should be possible for Istanbul, the largest city in Europe to do so too I guess. One of my Russian readers just told me that they were getting the trees in Moscow's (second largest city in Europe after Istanbul) main avenue back now, many years after they got rid of them there (also because of pipes, etc).
