This "oh so much yummy filling" Ukrainian bar of "chocolate" is probably one of the most disgusting things I have ever tasted.

It tastes like the bar is made of melted plastic cups and the filling is super glue with a pound of sugar in it. Even a small piece coats your mouth with a disgusting plasticy film that would not be rinsed out. There is no cocoa in it at all and most of the ingredients are some hydrogenated fats (from palm and soy oils) and synthetic flavourings. I have no idea why anyone would ever buy and eat this.

We rarely eat manufactured or processed foods here. We did try Belarusian ice cream and it was pretty good. But this Ukrainian bar is simply inedible. Luckily, we still have a box of Green & Black's with us here.

Wow atleast our chocolate bars here have chocolate in the ingredients.   Mind you they are also loaded with sugar and artifical flavoring ect.  Not David avacado Wolfe approved.

They called this one "dessert bar" and did not use "chocolate" anywhere. Whatever it is, it tastes absolutely disgusting.

I love Green & Black, particularly their milk chocolate.

Me too. I am not a big fan of sweet stuff and chocolate but when I do eat it, it is often Green and Black's.

Sounds disgusting.  The packaging looks like a cheap knock off of Cadbury Caramilk bars.

Once upon a time we had a Balkan market down the street that sold kinder eggs. Which is remarkable because in general kinder eggs are illegal in the US because they present a choking hazard. So we bought some. Yay kinder eggs!
Turns out they were ... I don't know what, but they sure weren't genuine kinder eggs. The so-called chocolate was like crunchy tire grindings.

Must have been fake ones. Tire grindings would be much better than this bar. It has this offensive almost chemical smell to it. I have no idea how it could have been approved for sale as food.

I'm surprised that it's financially successful.

So am I. Someone told me today that most chocolate and sweets producers in Ukraine are owned by the president and that there might be other avenues for commercial success than actually making good stuff available to them.

Subsidies and tax shelters? Sweet! (So to speak.)

At least they built some factory that is doing something. In Moldova the oligarchs (politicians) are not even capable of doing business at all, not even as a smokescreen for dodgy stuff. They just steal people's money from the banks and then just say "oh well, someone took it, we will investigate but will be hard to find who took it so we will plug the hole with loans from the EU and US". All politicians' kids in the meantime live in Switzerland and post their 1,5 million Bugattis on social networks openly. But the politicians never answer the questions where did they get the money to buy 1,5 million cars for their kids. It was reported that the kids of the former prime minister burned about 400K USD a week in Switzerland where they live. This is the poorest country in Europe, people are driven to a complete despair but they are extremely non-violent. They went to the streets and wanted to take these guys out not a long time ago but the US supports the regime because they will do whatever the US tells them in relation to Russia (Moldova can steer things up via Transnistria whenever the US needs it). That's what people here keep telling me.

That's been the case in Mexico for a while, but increasingly there are signs that it's ending: when a mayor buys a house in the US that's worth 3x his yearly wage, it's increasingly common for him to be recalled by the populace when it hits the social networks. Unexpected benefit of social networking.
I'e heard claims that part of the reason that fuelled the Arab Spring was google earth letting people know just how much land and how much fancy architecture their neighbors had.
