My father's family were Londoners, but they moved away in the 1980s, and since then I've only been occasionally on day-trips and for trade fairs and that sort of dull thing. I wouldn't say I ever knew the city very well, but it has changed so much that I literally don't know what has been knocked down and built: could be anything, and I only really recognise the bits that you are likely to see popping out of underground stations or on postcards. I remember Regent's Park and the 70's zoo, but I bet none of that is recognisable now...

I remember we drove through the centre of the city a few times when we were going on holiday to Norfolk, in the early 80s. I don't think that's a route any sane person would take nowadays! :-D
