Then I drove 15 minutes north (and up) to one of the neighbouring villages and the scenery changed to this:

Yes, it is awesome. The transition is so sudden, it is almost a line you cross into winter.

I used to live in San Francisco, where there were foggy neighborhoods and sunny ones. But nothing this dramatic.
